I'm not saying I mind this, but will people in like five years only be saying like "dat" instead of "that", and "yo", and "wat up", and "hommie", and "da" instead of "the"? Just wondering. Thanks!

I know people talk like that now a days, but will that become part of the English language? Like will "Dat" be how people properly spell "That"? Thanks!

probably on the street, but not in an office. Isn't language one of those things that makes you competitive for a job? also slang has been around for like ever. it may be cool with your friends and all, but not when you're talking to your boss or when you want to look all smart and stuff. hopefully higher education won't allow it. it would be awful if all of the sudden everyone talked with 'dat' and 'da' we wouldn't sound too smart.

I don't think so, teens & the uneducated population has been speaking in slang since the 60's has it ever become normal...no. It just makes whomever uses it sound imature & stupid!

No. It would have to take over every culture everywhere, and there is no way 70 year old ladies are going to be all of sudden start saying "Wat up yo" in 5 years.

I don't think so because grammatically it is impossible to change the phonetics rules.
