Question:
where are you all getting 8x from in the first line??
2(x+4)²
shhouldn't that be 2(x²+16)? or do i have to multiply 4x with 2 ? lol because wouldn't the two be gonee after I do that?

I would square the x+4 first.
2(x^2+8x+16)-3(2x-3)(x+7)

then, distribute the 2:
2x^2+16x+32-3(2x-3)(x+7)

then multiply (2x-3) by (x+7) *FOIL
2x^2+16x+32-3(2x^2+14x-3x-21)

then combine the x's
2x^2+16x+32-3(2x^2+11x-21)

then distribute the 3 *make sure you change the signs since it's -3:
2x^2+16x+32-6x^2-33x+63

combine like terms:
-4x^2-17x+95
and there you go

Expand out the square:
2(x + 4)² - 3(2x - 3)(x + 7)
2(x² + 8x + 16) - 3(2x - 3)(x + 7)

Now multiply the two factors on the right side:
2(x² + 8x + 16) - 3(2x² -3x + 14x - 21)

Add 14x and -3x:
2(x² + 8x + 16) - 3(2x² + 11x - 21)

Now multiply through (be careful with -3):
2x² + 16x + 32 - 6x² - 33x + 63

Now combine like terms:
-4x² - 17x + 95

There's your simplified equation which won't factor into integer roots... so you are done.

I assume you mean to multiply this out. First, we multiply out the binomials:
2(x²+8x+16) - 3(2x²+11x-21)
Then distribute the 2 and -3:
2x²+16x+32 - 6x²-33x+63
And add:
-4x²-17x+95

x times 2nd power = 2x 4 times 4 times 2nd power = 16 so we have 2(x to the 2nd + 16)...... 2 times x to the 2nd + 2 times 16 - 3 times 2x - 3 times 3 .... (x+7) so we have 2x to the 2nd + 32 -6x + 9 ( -3 x -3 = positive) 9 times x + 9 times 7 = 9x and 63 so we have 2x(2) + 32 -6x - 9x + 63 "2x2 + 95-15x" thats the closest i can get too

2(x+4)²-3(2x-3)(x+7)
2(x2 + 8x + 16) - 3(2x2 -11x -21)
2x2 + 16x + 32 - 6x2 + 33x + 63
-4x2 + 49x + 95

2(x+4)²-3(2x-3)(x+7)
= 2(x^2+8x+16)-3(2x^2+11x-21)
=2x^2+16x+32-6x^2-33x+63
=-4x^2-17x+95
