i was told that you could at time purchase abandoned houses for a dollard from the mayor to renovate instea of distroying them. any ideas how i could get infos on that ?

Yes in many cities they have what is called an Urban Homesteading program. You need to call your city's department of housing and ask if they have such a program. Just put "urban homesteading" into google or yahoo search engine and you'll find tons of information on this topic, then contact your city hall for information specific to your city.

Your question is difficult to understand. But, I have never heard of that before. You will need to check with the housing authority. Those houses may be abandoned, but someone still owns the property. Find out who owns the property.
