Which fonts are in the public domain? And can I use them in the design of a product I hope to market?

I want to sell cutouts of letters for different uses...which fonts am I legally allowed to use

I don't think fonts, like ideas, can be trademarked. Block, Script, Sanskrit, etc. are all in the public domain. Use any you want.
