We have tried many different lines in our babie's dry skin until someone recomended the Noodle & Boo skin care line. Its happen to be one of Modana's favorite for her kids, but regardles it worked wonders on our baby. We purchased ours from http://www.spiffybaby.com. They also have an unbelievable unscented line from Butt Naked Baby that we are using on our newborn.
PS: also my wife loves their skin care line for mommies :-)
enjoy

The first of my 5 children had dry skin as a baby. My doctor told me to limit the amount of baths she had, as the water can actually dry out the skin. Baby lotions aren't really meant to help with cases of dry skin. You might be better off with an "adult" lotion which is specially formulated for sencitive and dry skin both. That way you eliminate some of the irritating dies, perfumes, and chemicals that may irritate your baby.

Aveeno, is prolly causing your baby's skin to dry because baby's skin is more sensitive than ours. You should start off with actual baby lotion, like from Johnson*Johnson company.

Please do not use Honey. Honey is harmful to most babies 12 months and younger, causes botulism when absorb into skin or swallowed. I have a daughter 10 mo old with ezcema since she was born. I use Cetephil lotion. Its unscented, and is wonderful, better then aveeno.

hi! if your baby has dry skin as in rashes try this simple home made indian treatement. Take a little coconut oil and turmeric powder. Mix to form a paste and apply before bath.
Use a non drying soap. We use a powder to bathe our babies. The powder consits of gram flour, turmeric powder, dried rose petals, dried orange peel powder and some herbs.
After bath apply dome coconut oil to the affected areas.
A good oil massage (olive/almond/coconut/combination) everyday before bath really helps.

Baby Aveeno and Baby Johnsons gave my baby rash. I asked the pediatrician and she recommended Eucerin (the one in the jar). It is super thick and hard to spread, but it does not break out his skin and moisturizes really well.

I use Eucerin for my kids' eczema. The more pasty the better. I have a sister that would be a dollop of vitamin D from a gelcap on her daughter eczema spot.
Cetaphil is great but it's more of a non-drying soap I do believe.
The good rule is unscented soap/lotions.

my daughter also has very dry skin, the best thing to use is Aquaphor, its a little greasy but it works well. ive also heard that johnsons soothing naturals works well but ive never tried it because my daughter has eczema and i can only put certain things on her skin. one thing that will work wonders is before you put the baby to sleep slather them up in Aquaphor, then put a pair of damp pajamas on and over it a dry pair. just make sure that the house is fairly warm. it sounds crazy but a dermatologist told me to do it and it worked very well. after only once of doing this there should be improvement.
