I think that would be great, but I don't think it truly does. I am going to vote bc my grandmother says that it is my duty, although I have absolutely no faith in our Government. We need to clean house.

Yes I hope that it does count and that together with other Americans we can make a change as a Country. We really are in need of a change that will give us new hopes and help us see the light at the end of the war... oh tunnel I meant.

Certainly.

And if people are qualified to vote and don't, they should pay a fine. It's the only REAL opinion that counts.

It's been tried, usually by a dictator trying to pass himself off as more humane. In a democracy, you have to chose to vote just as you have to choose who to vote for. A coerced vote is not a free vote... and THAT results in rigged elections and people selling their vote to the highest bidder and what keeps a tyrant in office even when there are "elections"...

Unless you are a congressional district unto yourself, your vote doesn't mean diddly-squat. We will just send the same citizens into office, make politicians out of them and watch them die as tax-fattened hyenas. The citizens of this country may think that their representatives have our best interests in mind, ask yourself this; when was the last time your congressman came and knocked on your door and asked you if it was ok if he voted himself a pay raise? Enough said.
