You can't change the world it is way too complicated. Discrimination comes in many different forms. Yet it is not condone by many people. Many people have different views on how the world should be run and how they want to live their life which makes it difficult to change people to stop racism all together.

Prejudice is, as the name implies, the process of "pre-judging" something. It implies coming to a judgment on a subject before learning where the preponderance of evidence actually lies, or forming a judgment without direct experience. Holding a politically unpopular view is not in itself prejudice, and politically popular views are not necessarily free of prejudice. When applied to social groups, prejudice generally refers to existing biases toward the members of such groups, often based on social stereotypes; and at its most extreme, results in groups being denied benefits and rights unjustly or, conversely, unfairly showing unwarranted favor towards others.
for examples of prejudice and descrimination i suggest you watch the movie 'school ties'. the movie should answer alot of your questions.

The first prejudice is easy; skin color. People associate light skin color with success, dark skin color with crime.
Next is hair. Light hair; looser. Dark hair; winner. In men. In women it is the opposite; light hair color is a winner. Dark hair color is trouble. Look at Jessica Simpson and Brittany Spears. BOTH brunettes. BOTH would not have any success if they had NOT bleached their hair blonde.
This is they way of our world. It will take hundreds of years to change it.

Most people become predjudiced because their parents are. My father was an "Archie Bunker" type, but fortunately my mother wasn't. I was raised in a mixed neighborhood & had friends of all races & still do, but I've seen it. People can change, but they have to see why its wrong for themselves.

We have preconceived notions of how these people are going to be. That is prejudice.
If we treat them differently than we would like to be treated, that is discrimination.

You need a lesson in social science. First off, watch the elections in your state, and you'll see what this is all about....especially in FLORIDA.
