they are fueled by a twisted version of islam
they want us dead, what extreme event could alter their perception of us. Could some leader of a pure unperverted islam open the eyes of thoes people by using writings in the koran to show them what allah wants. I dont know what it says but there must be something there they could use to show their people. They are so religiously zelous, you would think they would listen to the words in their own book.

Yes killing them all would be the quick answer.
BUT.
The truth is.
We have to allow their children to do more then learn to hate us.
Most of the older generations of Islamist in the Middle East have grown up learning only to hate anybody that is not like them.
Its not just us they want to kill.Look at what is Happening in France,Germany, and the rest of the European world, they are being swallowed up by Islamist who have no desire but to rid this world of all but Islam.They state it daily, and raise their children to feel the same way.
Dont forget, the Middle Easterners have television, and the net ,But what they see is restricted to only what their Islamic leaders want them to see.
A perfect example of what I am saying is with the Kurds, They became tired of the death and destruction, and started to build a free society, That is why Saddam was killing them by the thousands, their quest for freedom was a threat to the Islamic way. But after we freed them again they have begun to thrive as a democracy,They have electricity, schools, hospitals,Their women are treated as equals,and they are beginning to grow in peace. You dont hear anything about it, because it would Further support what Bush is trying to do in the rest of that forsaken land,
The answer lies in the children.
P.S. Any body that has the ability to think independantly, and do their own research would realise that no matter what we did or didnt do in the past would not keep the Islamic freaks from trying to kill us, the real problem that we have in this country, is that they have learned how to use the "willing media", as well as a few Anti American politicians to fool the weak minded in this country. Unfortunately the answer is just about the same that we are already doing now which is: Out and out war in their own territory to keep them from coming here to impose as many 911's as they can and worse, To keep Implementing concessions on peacetime laws and protections to help catch the terrorist before they get us first( like the Patriot Act), and increasing the Border patrols. And most of all , STAYING THE COURSE. If we pull out of Iraq now, the terrorists will celebrate their perceived win over big bad America and use that in their recruiting of more terrorists to bring the war over to us. And they will for sure.because they hate us and want to kill all of us and conquer us as well.

What Americans fail to understand yet is that YOU CANNOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!!! It is impossible to negotiate with them because THEY are not interested in peace. They just want to conquer and kill. Simple as that!!

That is not possible. Radical Islamists will accept only a Muslim world domination. According to them, and kaifer (sorry can't spell Arabic) or non Muslim is like cattle and may be sold at the market or killed. It is their duty (to them) to wage Jihad on the world and die for Allah.

Now that is RADICAL Islam. Real and Traditional Islam is a peaceful thing, Jihad is supposed to be peaceful.

It is simply not possible, and anyone who says peace with them is possible is uneducated in this matter.

Sometimes I have nasty thoughts. Sometimes. This particularly nasty thought makes me wonder if we can pull out of the middle east to a-bomb the lot of them back to sand. My apologies to the innocent civilians. My apologies to you all.

We did that to parts of Japan whose population had an ingrained ideological problem, killing themselves and their children rather than surrender.

I know we learned our lesson. But I wonder. War with Islamic fanaticists is far broader, far worse. We only need to nuke a few areas.

if you are not a military power, and you are fighting for freedom from oppression, you use terrorists tactics like the IRA did, or that group is Spain. It's horrible, and wrong and desperate, but it's what people do and have done for centuries. The best way to fight terrorism is to find the root cause and eliminate it. Our government backs so many horrible despots because these monsters so what we want for the benifit of our nation, that the people suffering under their control will fight back any way they can.

To "Cold Stone" I don't think that your statement about us messing around in their countries is addressing the fact that terrorists don't have a country. Although they are concentrated in the middle east, many muslims tell us that their religion is a peacful one. I would take that to mean that they too are wanting the terrorists to be defeated and would welcome our intervention for that purpose.
