How can I read a book clearly and concentrate at it?

When I read, I sometimes repeat the words and takes me hours just to read one page

I have trouble sometimes, too. I usually make sure I'm in a quiet room where I know that I will not be interrupted, I clear my mind, and I read. It's better to take it paragraph by paragraph, and make sure you understand one paragraph before going on to the next. You should take notes and look up words you don't know the meaning of to get a better understanding of the book.

Most likely you are reading literature that doesn't quite nab your interest, and your subconscious is bored. If it is forced reading, try your best to get at least a little bit involved with the story. Use colored Post-Its, if it helps. If this is not the case, you should try reading in a quiet environment, and maybe even read the words aloud, or something like that.

Sounds like you have having a problem with comprehension. People scan their eyes over the lines of words but don't understand what they've read. Practicing reading comprehension is the best thing you can do for yourself. It takes longer at first, but in the end, you will be ahead of everyone. Keep practicing. Good Luck to you.

Try to read somewhere where there are few distractions. Sit upright in a chair or couch and make sure its fairly uncomfortable. Also, if you feel like you are starting to doze in and out, drink a coke or something with caffine to help you keep awake

If you are interested in what you are reading the pages flow past with ease, IF you are interested, it is a strain to read and learn.
If you can't be interested in the subject , the be interested for the rewards ( Grade )
