NO it is a good thing. The less chances you get sick the better. They actually offer it right at the clinic, and at a cheaper rate.

Well i flu shot is a small dose of the predicted flu to hit that season. It helps build up ammunities to the virus so in effect if you get a flu shot it is giving yourself some of the virus. It's good for adults and the dosage the baby would get you wouldn't think would hurt it but the only person that can answer definately would be a medical professional such as your ob, family dr or nurse.

No, it's actually a very good thing! I had a flu shot during my pregnancy, and I am very glad that I did! Remember, if you happen to get sick during pregnancy, there's not too much you can do about it. You can take certain antibiotics for serious sicknesses, but if you just end up with a cold or flu bug, then there really isn't much over the counter medication that you're allowed to take while pregnant. Definitely talk to your doctor before you proceed, but I recommend it!

The flu shot is highly recommended for pregnant women. I've already gotten mine. This was the first pregnancy where I had to have one. The other two were born before flu season. You might get a sore arm for a few days, but that's about the worst of it. Hope that helps!

They recommended that I get a flu shot when I was pregnant. The vaccine is recommended for all women who are or will be pregnant during flu season. The shot is made from dead influenza virus. HOWEVER, the nasal spray vaccine is made with weakened (but still alive) influenza virus and is NOT recommended by doctors for pregnant women.
I'd never had the flu shot before I was pregnant, as my mother had always gotten the flu or pneumonia after getting it, but I had no ill affects from it.

Good rule to live by during pregnancy is never get a shot that is a live virus. The flu shot is not a live virus so it is safe to get. Do not use the flu nasal mist because it contains live virus.

I got mine only because I was due to have my son during flu season. Ask your OB for this type of advice... it's much safer. Anyhow, most clinicians will not give you the shot if it is deemed unsafe for you; they will ask you a bunch of questions to make sure you are ok to have it.

Ask your OB before getting the shot. The shot may cause harmful side effects to you and the baby and it maybe made with the that may cause your baby serious birth defects. Please just check with your doctor first.
