I have been taking birth control regularly. however i went out of town for a couple of days and ran out. i missed three pills. on the third day me and my bf had s** without using a condom. we were just messing around ... the next thing i knew he didn't pull out fast enough and i got just a very small amount of semen on me. i immediately went to the bathroom and washed off. i'm just not sure that i got all of it. however i do know that it wasn't a whole lot. most of it was on the floor. so, what are the chances of me getting pregnant?

The chances of you being pregnant are very low. When you are on your period, you are not ovulating, generally. And getting semen on you won't get you pregnant. Just watch your next period carefully. If you are more than a couple of days late, take a home test. Next time, don't have unprotected sex unless you are ready to take on the responsibility of a pregnancy. But you're probably fine. Good Luck!

Well...how long have you've been on birth control? I once called the doctor's office and told them that I had run out of pills. I didn't want to miss any days. She told me that since I've been on it for five years and been using the pill regularly that I don't have much to worry. I guess she meant that I had built up more protection than if say I've been on the pill for a year.

But being that you said that when you missed a day of taking your pills you started right away...that clues me in that you may be on a pill with low levels of estrogen. Most pills these days are have low levels of estrogen than compared to the pills years ago. They do this to lessen the amount of side effects that many women get, such as headaches. The bad side to this is that if you don't take your pill regularly that's when you can get pregnant.

Being on your period doesn't mean anything either..I know a friend who got pregnant while she was on her period. Which is why she had unprotected sex in the first place cuz she believed that she couldn't get pregnant - wrong...you can.

My guess, is if you've been on the pill for at least two yrs, your chances are slim. BUT...there is always that possibility.

I'd say the chances are slim. A home test won't be accurate until 15 days after possible conception; not necessiarily 15 days after sex--sperm can live in the vagina for up to 4 days. So if you don't have your period in 19 days, take a test. But I'd really think you're ok.

Anything is possible, however taking the pill usually builds a type of resistance in your body, so even though you missed a few their is a possiblity that you body is still protected. If still concerned take a pregnancy test if you miss your next period.

With you just starting you period when you had sex the chances are very slim. You need to be more careful if you don't want to be though, sperm is so fast that you don't have time to wash it out. So be more careful out next time.

Probably not, so I wouldn't worry, especially if you were having your menstrual cycle at the time. Very little chance there was an egg to fertilize. Yuck.

It's possible, but I'd say you're probably okay. You know you can still get pregnant while on BC.
