My best friend and her boyfriend broke up like in September and he moved like in May to Washington. Their relationship was going good until he found someone else and dumped my best friend for that one girl. Now she is trying hard no to think about him and she just found out today that he is dating that girl and it kills her. What can I do? What can I say?

I'm an old lady - I've dumped and I've been dumped. I'm happy to say those days are over. But, I think that what hurts so bad about an ex-boyfriend moving on is how we feel about ourselves (I must not be much if he's replaced me). So what is probably hurting your friend is how she feels about herself. It might be helpful to tell her that love is not really so often about the person being loved but the person doing the loving. Some people cannot love anyone. Some people love all they meet and some (most of us) simply pick and choose. Just because she is not the love of this guy's life does not mean she will not be the love of the next. Or the one after that. She just needs to hurt as long as she hurts. In the meantime, I have a feeling that you are a very dear friend. You will know how to entertain her, to soothe her, to find ways to make her smile. Help her to feel good about the person she is and you will be doing all a good friend can, all a good friend need do.

well, that is hard to take in! i mean, breaking up is really big to someone that you really like/or love! i think all you can tell her is that there are other guys, and that he wasnt worth the heart brake becoz if he really liked/or loved her he wouldnt be going out with another chick, i mean maybe you should take her somewhere where theres not a lot, but a good amount of guys, and so that she could start talking and get motivated and to like other guys! or just be a reall buddy, and just confort her! thats all she needs, is some conforting! well i hope things get better for your friend and dont bugg her about it! just be that shoulder she can lean on!

jut let her know you are their for her...talk to her and hang out with her more..take her out shopping or to eat or just go for a walk...talk to her about it if she brings it up it helps to talk about it ..ask her if she wants to talk about it..or anything...buy her a thinking of you card or a flower..a pink rose..let her know you are their for her and you will do anything as a friend to help her...goodluck...ash
