He's too young for cereal. Breast milk is the best food for him right now.

He's WAY too young for cereal. Don't do it! Introducing solids before 4 months can cause food allergies, among other things. The only time it is ever recommended is if the baby has acid reflux, and if that's the case, you should see your doctor. There's also been studies showing that a baby who has cereal fed to him with his formula does not sleep any better or longer than a baby who doesn't. It has no good effects. If your baby is crying a lot, see your pediatrician and work together to find the answer. Good luck!!

NO!!! Absolutely not! The point of formula and breast milk is not to stuff the baby into submission, it is to make sure that the baby gets the nutrients it needs. Giving a month-old baby cereal is like giving a 10-year old cheetos... It's just junk food, and takes away from what the baby should be getting. If little one is always hungry, feed the baby more often, not thicker food. Make sure the baby doesn't have gas or other pains or digestive complaints, is not to warmor too cold, is not uncomfortable in the diaper, etc. If none of these are solving it, call your pediatrician for advice. But don't start stuffing your baby with cereal, PLEASE! It makes for an obese, gassy, and listless child.

Please don't! Your baby needs nothing more than breastmilk right now (assuming he is healthy). A child should never be given anything other than breastmilk before an absolute minimum of six months of age.
You physically "can" force feed cereal on him, yes, but you'd be opening him up for allergies and depriving him of the nutrients of breastmilk (instead of nursing, he's gumming cereal).
I have no idea where you heard that you should spoon feed a baby this young, but there is simply too much potential for harm if you do.

Giving cereal to a baby this young can cause other problems later on and studies have shown that giving cereal to a baby will not make them stop crying or sleep longer. I would suggest reading How to become baby wise. I can say that it changed my life as a mom and I have the happiest baby that it shocks people and everyone that has read the book has the same type of baby.

You can do anything you want....but personally I'd recommend strongly against giving cereal to a one month old baby. The AAP doesn't suggest starting solids until around 6 mos of age. Babies really can't digest anything but breastmilk or formula until around then. Starting solids too early can lead to an increased risk of allergies, diabetes and obesity.

No!! Their little bodies just can't digest food right now and feeding too early can lead to allergies later. Have you tried swaddlig? Not swaddlig? Keeping the room quiet and low light? Keeping tags and scratchy things off the skin? Looser diaper? Gas drops? Is baby pulling up his/her legs when crying (indicates gas) I could go on and on lol....You can also ask your doctor...they may have some ideas. Unfortunately some babies are just fussy...but I promise it will get better!! My son was pretty fussy for the first 6 months but is now the happiest little guy around. He is almost 3 now. Good luck!!
PS...don't put it in a bottle even well watered down they can choke!!

No. Cereal will not stop a baby from crying. In fact, he'll probably cry more because his immature digestive tract is not able to handle solid foods at such a young age.

I wouldn't suggest baby cereal - he is a little too young for that. One thing that always helped with my son when he was crying was wrapping him up in a blanket, sitting in a rocking chair (or glider), and just talking to him quietly. They tend to cry a lot since it is sensory overload for a little bit. Just be patient and do the best you can, but don't do cereal yet!!

Cereal is recommended for babies 4 months old and older. I wouldn't give a one month old cereal. He/she may be going through a growht spurt and needs to be fed more frequently. Just give them more formula or breast milk and give it to them often. This should only last about a week.

What makes you think at cereal would stop his crying. Is her acting like he is not getting enough to eat? He is way to young for cereal. You might want to notify your doctor. My children had colic because they were allergic to milk/Even breast milk. They would cry from about 3 pm to 11 pm almost none stop. Once they were switch to soy formula it stopped. Keep track of when and how long he is crying and talk to his doctor about it.
