Politics aside, they're moving both closer together and farther apart. If you wanted a definite answer, you'd have to specify where in each country you're talking about.The distance between the western US and eastern Russia is changing, as is the distance between the eastern US and western Russia.

As the present administration has done it's worse to push away all the other nations in the world, I don't believe Russia would be an exception.

In a diplomatic sense, they are moving further apart. In a geographic sense, since there are no expansions of the US's borders or the Russian borders it has remained constant.

do you mean because of the great Atlantic fault because if so they believe that the earths plates are moving west coast of america and china towards each other very slowly
