This was posted as an answer to my question "how come most Christians do not know the definition fo the word theory?"

"it is called evolutionary theory for a reason. it is impossible to know for sure that we came from monkeys...and we didn't by the way because why are they still here? wouldn't natural selection have selected them out and had only the evolved survive? and there is no way we know how long ago life began because the carbon dating formula only works for certain conditions, the formula itself is based off of speculation of what the earth was like back then. so no matter how many times it is "proven" that evolution has occurred, it is only proven in the sense that the earth was under those exact conditions. so evolution is one big lie. "

I find this completly rediculous and uneducated.

Your input is appreciated.

If Creationism was correct and science could definitively prove Creationism (and thus the existence of God), why would they not? That would be the greatest scientific discovery in the history of the world. No one would pass that up to maintain the 'status quo'. There is no conspiracy to hide creation evidence. Anyone who knows real scientists knows they are glory-mongers first. They love to prove others wrong to enhance their own standing. And if any scientist could prove Creation/God, it would've been done a long time ago.

First, we did not descend from monkeys. We share a common ancestor with other primates. Monkeys are still here because they evolved independently from the common ancestor.

Carbon dating is based on the radioactive half-life of carbon-14. The carbon-14 dating method only applies to samples containing carbon (very useful in biology) and is limited to samples up to about 58,000 and 62,000 years. This limit is encountered when the radioactivity of the residual carbon-14 in a sample is too low to be distinguished from background radiation. Since the Nobel Prize was awarded to Willard Frank Libby and his colleagues at the University of Chicago in 1949 for the discovery of Radiocarbon Dating, I suspect it is reasonably reliable.
Why don't you ask the poster how truthful the Shroud of Turin proved to be when subjected to carbon-14 dating and chemical analysis.

Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, some people may want to understand science (at least a little) before trying to discredit well-established scientific theory.

In my own opinion...I do believe in cultural theory. Because man is being influenced by his culture and not by his origin. Origin is only the genes that he/she inherit from his ancestors. But the way he grow and survive in his sorroundings was being influenced by his culture and the people living around him. This theory assumes that individual development is a product of continuous interaction between the developing person and the demands and resources of cultural environment.

I believe least to Charle's Darwin's theory of evolution. Although there are many studies about evolution like the Homo erectus and Homo Sapiens. Many anthropologists studied his theory but until now they can't prove that humans came from a monkey. Not unlike the cultural theory it was already proven. Just think of our everyday living and we can prove it on our ownselves. We are animals in different way because we as HUMANS are highly functional. We can talk, we can think, we can differentiate right from wrong and we have common sense. I believe that all creatures living in earth especially humans are all created by God even those monkeys that swaying above the banana trees! And eating lice out of the scalps of their head!

Yes, a laptop scientist is a scientist. Computer technological know-how is the research of the theoretical foundations of know-how and computation, and their software in laptop approaches. As its identify implies, laptop technological know-how is a natural technological know-how, no longer an carried out technological know-how or carried out industry area. As an analogy to the scientific area, a laptop scientist is just like the melanoma researcher who could research molecular biology or biochemistry in-intensity, at the same time an know-how technological know-how expert is just like the general practitioner who stories the ones fields at a larger stage and makes a speciality of their software to sufferer care.

Well, the fundamentalists have misguided definition of what the word "theory" means, and have done nothing to become enlightened about it.

Much, much, much more evidence exists to support the theory of evolution than their "theory" of divine creation, of which ZILCH exists.

It all goes to show how maleable the human mind is, particularly when young.

The dumbest answer on Y!A is hardly a golden standard, but I'm glad your point could be so well demonstrated by the opposition.

I concur also. It is not nice to hold someone up to ridicule when they can do a much better job of that themselves, though. Consider that, young lady.
