its more interesting and we know what we see is what we're getting. if they sound bad singing we know they are not good singers. however if they sound good singing, hey we have ourselves a winner!! that's for any tv surveys, especially the nfl. we are voting because of what they have already shown us they can do, and not having to just go on their word of what they can or will do for us. its easy to vote for those that have shown action instead of just talk.

Because the people that vote for those shows most likely are young people who can't vote in an election or people who would like to vote but can't for legal reasons (ex convicted felons)

Two party system that offers most people no worthy vision for the future. in essence most are not represented by the two party system.
They get apathetic always having to vote for the lesser of two evils because everyone tells them a third party can't win.

I say vote your principles rather than solely one party.

Sadly, I don't think a lot of people really care. But honestly - I'd rather see people NOT vote than vote ignorantly. People need to have at least a basic grasp of the issues and candidates before they vote, or they should STAY HOME!

becuz first of all you have to be 18 to vote and american idol you dont

because we've become a shallow culture of celebrity worship...besides, voting requires one to do two things that are alien in our culture...#1: get our butts off the sofa, and #2: think

One person can vote dozens of times, they can vote from thier home and don't have to go somewhere
