It's all about the close-mindedness (possibly from both sides) on difference. Often a bias or negative interpretation to do with ignorance, stupidity, or unnecessarily dramatizing. Usually just venting over what one considers unpopular or abnormal.

Because some people do not adapt well to change. People fear what they don't understand, so when someone different comes along, with a different lifestyle and different views, they don't understand, and they fear (hence the phrase).
And then they label, because all they can see in their world are a population of human soup cans that need labels.

Simply because they are different....they don't fit into the "mold" that others think is the right way to go about things. They judge, sadly, before they know.

because most emos and goths cut themselves and they are always sad thats why people dont want to be sad when they talk to a friend they want to be happy
