-2(x+1) + 4 = 6(x-2) + 8
-2x - 2 + 4 = 6x - 12 + 8
-2x + 2 = 6x - 4
-2x = 6x -4 -2
-2x = 6x - 6
-2x -6x = -6
-8x = -6
8x = 6 (The minus signs cancel each other out)
x = 6/8
x = 3/4
