1) aerobic exercise
2) healthy diet

Aerobic exercise means regular routine of walking, running or cycling. You need to sustain for at least 20 minutes each session, ideally daily or alternating days, to see any real effect. But if you can work up to, say, 60 minutes every other day, you'll see real improvement.

Healthy diet means cut out the refined sugar, cut out the simple carbs that turn immediately into sugar (like white rice, pasta, white bread) and replace with healthy protein (like meat), green vegetables and lots of water each day.

Pills and fads don't work over the long haul, but I guarantee this "old fashioned", less-than-trendy method has proven successful for me.

Best to you.

Don't eat after 6pm at night. Cut back on fast food and sugars. Do some form of exercise every day even if it is walking a few blocks and increasing that every day. Drink lots of water and instead of 3 meals a day starting eating small snacks frequently throughout the day. I eat Special K in the morning. Snacks could be cut up vegetables, a hard boiled egg, yogurt, wheat toast etc.
I just started doing exactly that and I have lost a few inches - I can tell my clothes fit better -over the last 3 weeks. Maybe it will work for you.

Decide that you want to lose a small amount each month. This slow weight loss method works, and lasts a lifetime....and if you ever find you are gaining a little, go back to the healthy methods that work!
Make specific goals to change your eating habits...(.not lose weight because that's a negative), where changing eating habits is positive!

1. Eat breakfast everyday.....the o's are good, unsweetened with non-fat milk and fresh fruit if available.
2. More vegetables and fruit - fresh everyday, and canned or frozen if you don't have fresh....just more at least 3-5 servings a day.
3. Forget fried food unless you spray the pan with the "olive oil spray in a can" to fry it yourself.
4. Have hot chocolate for a treat, made with cocoa, splenda - sugar substitute, non-fat milk, and almost no calories! If you need candy, pick dark chocolate with cocoa in it, and low-fat, or no-sugar ones!

5. Once a week, you need to decide which meal, you will eat anything you want so you don't feel deprived.

6. Pick frozen weight watchers desserts (weight watchers or other low calorie brand cupcakes are great), for a treat every now and then.
7. When you go out to eat and pick a salad, use low-fat or no-fat dressing on your salad.
8. Forget white bread, white flour and white sugar....and try if you need sugar to substitute splenda.
9. Choose low-carb bread, which means low fat & low calories.
10. When you go out to eat, choose from the menu low-carb menu items, or meat, vegetables and salad.
11. Try to eat the 5 alive (vegetables and fruit daily).

12. Try to walk farther any time you have to walk somewhere, and at least 3 to 5 x a day, walk up and down stairs....that's an extra 15 minutes a day....and that helps keep you happy.
13. Try to walk a little faster when you start to feel good.
14. Do not weigh yourself daily, once a week is fine.
15. If you try this for 3 weeks, you will lose about 1 or 2 pounds per week at a minimum....and don't get discouraged, it may have taken you years to get to your weight now.

16. Practice this...smile each time you pass a mirror, and big smile as your are happy that you are taking back control of your life.

17. As you start to lose weight, tell no one!!!!! Somehow that makes people ask too many questions, and this weight loss is your choice, and for you only!!!
Even though you may start to get compliments, say I feel fine don't talk about!
Losing weight is like quitting smoking, if you talk about it, somehow it turns negative on your self-esteem and I don't know why!

The best way would probably be just exercising. Everyone is so busy now with their jobs and work so they don't have time to do some exercising....or time to cook either. Just eat normally and eat a lot of fruits and veggies. As for the exercising part, it doesn't have to take place everyday. One can exercise 2-3 times a week. There's an excellent web site that offers tips and ideas and a lot of information concerning this issue. http://www.flat-stomach-exercises.com/
