Does anyone have any suggestions about this, I wish there was one in both. It's hard carrying a baby, a purse, and a diaper bag.

Get a Messenger Bag. It's big enough for both of you, has many compartments, and doesn't look frumpy on you.

when I was struggling raising my children I carried a wallet put in the diaper bag. I really didn't need a purse after that diaper bag. My children are in high school now and I have a purse I just don't like it. So maybe you can experment a little, try carry something small enough to fit in the diaper bag and not so controlling of your time a lot of mothers have tried this.

I have a purse and a diaper bag. There is no way I could successfully have just a purse and have my daughter with me. unless I was just going to the store or something and then right back home, but even then I bring her diaper bag. Her diaper bag has about 17 diapers in it (I like to keep a full load in there), a travel set of wipes, a couple of bottles, a portable powdered formula carrier by Munchkin (much easier than bringing the whole formula can), a onesie and a sleeper or pants in case she soils her clothes which she has many times before when we're out, a couple of washcloths for her face, 1-2 bibs, and a little toy for her to play with in the car when I'm driving more than 20 min. (she gets fussy in the car). There is no way I could bring that much stuff and fit it in my little purse. But the coach big purse idea is not a bad one---I just still think I wouldnt be able to fit all I need and more in there.

I read in one of those parenting magazines once where they published diaper bags that got two thumbs up from the editors and there is this one diaper bag that came with a purse you could attach to the diaper bag(I forget how)...I wish i could remember where....but you might just have to tough it out until baby gets older. Or get a really big purse and pack a smaller bag of "esscentials"

You can carry both but at times your hands will get tired as will your shoulders. I carry a purse when I am not with my son. If I have my son with me I just put my wallet in my diaper bag to save on carrying something else and it works really well.

There are some diaper bags that have a "section" in them for your "stuff". Sometimes I would just throw my wallet in the diaper bag rather than carrying both - depending on where I was going.

No, I think women should carry just a diaper bag, all you'll need to do is stick your wallet, check book, keys and whatever else in the diaper bag pocket department. It's simple and less weight.

I have a wallet, a small "cosmetic bag", and a diaper bag.
My wallet and keys and anything else for me goes in the "cosmetic bag" ontop of everything that belongs to our daughter in the baby bag.
Just see what works for you (I was never a purse carrying woman, it was always a wallet in my right back pocket, money in my right front pocket, keys dangling from my belt loop and lopgloss on my mouth ( I didn't wear much makeup let alone carry it around with me) and any change I had went in my left front pocket).
Good luck

They actually do sell larger bags that are meant to be both a diaper bag and a purse. They've got different sections for the different items.

Usually I use just the diaper bag as my purse.

Buy a really big purse that will hold everything or one of the baby diaper bag backpacks.
