"Votes are a way to keep the man complacent, if you put the people behind the wheel, they think their driving, they feel power, but unfortunatly what the people dont know, the goverment is running the locamotive one 1 track with a remote control" - BNP
I found this quote from and made me wonder, since we are faced to chose from the lesser of 2 evils, the canidates are either hot (Repubilc) or cold (Liberal) and since I can not relate to neither. The question is, if everyone banded together and no-one voted (I understand this would never happen, so please do not answer with that.) what would be the outcome? Is there a law, or something in effect that would place a specific person in President or Office status?

Our votes are "Counted" in each state and "members" of the "electoral collage" relay the number of votes from the state they represent (or do they ?) until they are added together , and the winner is chosen - Like in the last election down in Florida - (wink-wink ) The winner has already been bought....I mean voted for ....silly me !!!!

They would have to reschedule a new election...the presidents term is over in 8 yrs and he would remain president until the voters appointed a new one. The overall election is decided by electoral votes, not the general public and any elected official would stay in office until an appropriate winner could be determined...

I believe in most situations like that that a high ranking official gets to pick a tie breaker. Most times it is by a flip of a coin or something like that.

Your question reminds me of a quote that I read in Pravda soon after the fall of the soviet bloc, " Now that we have gotten right to vote, let's learn how not to use it."

Hmmm... I guess it would be up to volunteers. Would you be one of them?

It's not worth the try. *If* NOBODY voted, a dictator would rise to power, taking away our right to vote!
