I babysit for 3 year old twins and to help their mother out I've been allowing her to not pay me which was fine. Now she's taking her ex-husband to court and telling the court that she has been paying me $50 a week. I also baby-sit for her ex and he has started paying me for $50 for two days. Should I let her get away with telling people that she is paying me when she's not so she gets more money?

What does your heart say? Do what's right!

No you should not ley her lie if it involves you. You should remind her of the truth . If she lies in court she could be slapped with a penalty or worse. The fact that she is going to say she pays you puts you in a spot . Do you file income tax returns at the end of the year? Wages are taxable. She sounds like she is trying to manipulate the court so her ex will have to pay her more money to cover the expenses she is claiming she has for your service. Don't ever work for free. At least not ever again. Your time is worth something and the sooner you know this the better off you'll be down the road. Talk to your mom & dad about this and I seriously would talk to her husband if I were you. This woman is a looser.

Do not let her!! If you let her they will calculate it in her child support. Which means he will pay more. It is not for him to pay more when she isn't paying. if you go into court, you tell the truth. You let them know she doesn't pay, but he does. It's not right to rip him off. It doesn't matter if he's a jerk or if you two are best buds. It's not right and you shouldn't let it happen. I suggest you tell her not to say it and you let him know. Just incase she drags someone else in to claim she's paying them.
