Though I'm female, I'd have to say Boromir: he was tough but troubled (largely due to bad parenting) and not immune to doing the wrong thing for the right reasons... That, and I'd like bathing and stuff in that bod. ;)

To those who brought up Tom Bombadil - I have indeed read the book and I know all about him. Of course, the movies were pretty long already, so I can kind of understand them not including him. Nice to know not everyone waits for the movie to get the story. :)

Legolas. Or one of the elves. I absolutely love the elven art, clothing, everything! I love ivy. They favor silver over gold, so that's good too. Long lives, keen eyesight, light and graceful. Plus I've always liked archery.

I think I would like to be Tom Bombadil. As 'beck' also answered , if you haven't read the books you wouldn't know of Tom Bombadil, and I also was disappointed that he was not included in the movies. Who could ask for a better character to be, living in the wilderness, being able to talk and sing to the tress, flowers and rivers. And also enjoy the companionship of Goldberry, a beautiful young blond with an angelic voice.

I'd be Tom Bombadil. I reckon he'd have a nice peaceful life, and he's a wonderful quirky character. I'd rather live peacefully than go on a dangerous quest, personally. Of course if you haven't read the books then you won't know who I'm talking about because they shamefully left him out of the movies.

Aragorn, because I've always wanted to be the archetypal square-jawed, earnest hero. Since I was a kid in the '60's I've identified with Flash Gordon(from the 1930's serials and newspaper comics, not the mullet-haired himbo from the campy 1980 movie).
Trying to be a good dad is the closest I'll ever come to being a real hero, and I gotta tell ya, it's pretty satisfying.

Ummmm.......OK, well.......this is probably weird, but I think I'd maybe like to be Treebeard. I'd love to wander around in the woods, and it would be so nice to be able to live life at a slower pace!! lol Talk to the trees, protect the forests, drink some of that Ent-draught, and every so often.....scare the bejeebers out of some poor soul who doesn't know what an Ent is!

I'd definitly be Sam (even though I'm a girl too) because Sam makes out the best in the movie. In the book its a whole different story.

Mr Frodo Baggins.. cause he had the will to resist the temptation of the ring and without the help of him the whole of the "middle earth" would have fallen into darkness.. don't overlook this hobbit cause he did not have any special power or pointed hats.. but he was unique in his own way..

Gandalf, cause he's the oldest, wisesest, coolest guy in Middle Earth!! He was such a force in the War of the Ring! (plus he gets an awsome horse, and that wicked hat)

I would have to chose Aragorn, because he has to admit to his family line's past, then forge ahead to create a new and hopefully better world with his friends by his side. Plus he is the most gorgeous creature alive.
