-4x = 36 x = -9
12+n/2=18 n = 12
-25 = 5 - 6x x = 5
2x + 3x = -45 x =-9
7n--n=48 x = 8

I take it those are six different problems?

You need to isolate the variables in each problem. For instance, if

5x=-15

I would divide both sides by 5, because 5x/5 = x. So x is -15/5.
