There most certainly is tar and hundreds of chemicals in any tobacco product smoked from any contraption except for a vaporizer. Cigarette smoke first or second hand is bad for a pregnant woman's fetus especially smoking inside an enclosed space.

Then again, it's good to just live a little bit.

I agree that a woman should not drink and/or smoke during pregnancy. However, for those of you who have never been a smoker do not know how hard it is to quit. Congratulations, and I hope you never do. But for some of you to say that a woman who smokes should be sterile? That is such a mean thing to say. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 1 1/2 yrs. I thought we couldn't get pregnant? I have been a smoker for 10yrs. As soon as my doctor put me on fertility treatment, I have been trying to quit. I have gone from 10 cigs/ day to 3! If you have never gone through the experience of trying to quit smoking, please don't voice your opinion about such a sensitive issue. Yes, if you have enough will power, you can quit. And probably someone who is 9mos preg and still smoking never wanted to quit- and probably don't think anything could happen. Anyway, just wanted to share what I am going through --I am not sure if I am pregnant yet or not, I go this Monday...

From my own expiriance it will be okay... I lived in Cali for a while, and out there they are a very popular spot to hang-out. I sat right next to the hooka;s all through my pregnancy, and even took a hit everyonce and a while.... i have a perfectly happy and healthy baby girl... Just do it in moderation as everything should be done durning pregnacy, and it is always better to be safe than sorry, but you cant get through pregnancy without a little fun. Good luck.

All smoking and drinking alcohol or any type of drugs is hazardous to the Baby more than the pregnant woman

nicotine is bad for your body and especially for the baby. But its really up to the lady if she wants to sit around and breathe in the second hand smoke.

Any type of smoke is hazardous to a pregnant woman's child. Come on...don't give the child a handicap before it even gets here.

nicotine is bad for the baby. she can sit outside with you, as long as no one is blowing smoke in her face or talking in her direction until they are done. and be careful of the weay the wind is blowing as well. I always noticed that they baby's heart rate was significantly slower and he/she didn't move very much even with prodding and urging for atleast a couple days after exposure to nicotine. it was apretty good deterrent for me.

As long as SHE doesn't smoke it directly and you guys are outside, it's fine. Happy Hookah!

P.S. It's nice that you're concerned for her and her baby. That's very considerate of you.

We have enough air polution already. Whenever anything burns, its chemical composition is changed and is usually harmful. Why do you think they banned burning harmless tree leaves. Poor fragile baby.
