i would consider me a borderline otaku... i know a lot about it, i collect some series, and i watch quite a bit of anime... but i'm not so far gone that i know the name of every artist, seiyu (voice actor/actress), and pop artist who sings the intro/ending... i don't know when there is going to be a signing from the creator of a series or try to speak japanese every chance i get (although i do listen to the japanese version when i get the chance... i find the subtitled version is usually funnier and not prone to editing than the dubbed/american version)
