A gift is supposed to be unconditional. So you should give a gift expecting nothing but a kind "Thank you," in return. However, only give a gift if it's from the heart. I'm guessing this year that you won't feel it in your heart to give your sis a gift, however, you may adore your nephew enough to give him a token of affection (with no strings, of course).

Just get something you can afford or make something for her. Do it with Love and expect nothing in return. Eventually all things are made right.....do not be mad when people let you down. This will not be the last time. Keep your chin up and your faith whole. Good Luck. God Bless.

I like Christmas cards! You can make them yourself or you can buy them at the local dollar general! =) Plus to me they can literally say what a toy or a gift card cant. You can express yourself in words of love, hope, and faith . . . the true meanings of Christmas!

If you feel neglecting her would be wrong, send a well written or extravegant card. Send her something, without sending anything at all.
