No, I mean BEFORE we're born, after our spirit is made in Heaven, do the angels show us different lives to live?

God helps you make the right decision but overall you are in charge of your life.

The mansions or dwelling places are speaking of "after death ". The Lord said "if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you into myself". This will take place at the event called the Rapture where Christ returns for "His Church"(the believers). This does not apply to the unsaved. When you asked do we get to choose, in a sense we do, if we choose Christ we choose Life eternal in heaven if we do not choose Christ we will be choosing Hell apart from the Lord for all eternity.

After we're born we get to choose how to live life (everything but gender and relatives is our choice). Go past a certain point and you're talking predestination.

You choose your actions. You may not pick which boss you want, but you sure as heck decided to apply for the job. You didn't want to have lasagna for dinner, and yet you ate it anyway...

The way we act to the world around us and the continual choices we have to take make up the giant list of possibilities for us, yes, to choose our own life.

Not everyone gets to choose there life. But if you choose to stand up and speak for it, it can change anything, and anything is possible if you just believed, have faith and be strong.
