I am a surgical tech and have done several c-sections. The doctor breaks the water after he has made the incision into your uterus. You will know when he is going to do it because he will tell you that you will feel a lot of pressure. There is nothing unsanitary about it. After they break the water the assistant uses suction to suction it up while the surgeon is delivering the baby. Some of these responses are unreal. That is how a c-section is done, the water is always broken after the incision into the uterus unless you are having an emergency c-section and your water has already broke.

i'm assuming they will break it right before they prep you for surgery, because after rupture of membranes you are more likely to get an infection in the uterus, if they break them during the c-section while making the incision the amniotic fluid could get in the abdominal cavity. if they are broke while laying on a bed through the vagina the fluid can drain out normally. they will not break them too long before the c-section because as the amniotic fluid flows out the baby is propelled downward to the canal, which you really don't want if having a c-section. good luck.

regrettably, there's no longer one spectacular answer on your question because of the fact there are maximum of distinctive the form to attitude your predicament. i visit purpose to concentration at this kind of anesthesia you will possibly have: sleep (customary anesthesia) as against a spinal. additionally, i'm assuming that the being pregnant is otherwise common and that mom and unborn toddler are otherwise healthful. in maximum cases, the main common prepare for a c-area that may no longer an emergency is to supply spinal or epidural anesthesia. remember that basically because of the fact your water breaks would not inevitably represent an emergency. you're able to be able to start to exertions while your water breaks, yet many obstetricians are keen to purpose to supply a breech toddler as long because of the fact the toddler isn't endangered. So, even in the experience that your water breaks, you have gotten lots of time to get a spinal until eventually now a c-area. regardless of if, in case you or your toddler do no longer respond nicely to the turning, ability breaking of your water, or exertions, your obstetrician could evaluate this an quite emergent c-area wherein case you will possibly choose customary anesthesia. the clarification customary anesthesia could be used is because is in lots of cases the quickest approach of anesthesia to undertake with the intention to right away supply your toddler. the alternative place a pregnant affected person under customary anesthesia isn't taken gently because of the greater suitable ability for anesthesia-proper issues. That suggested, the overpowering majority of sufferers who've spinal or customary anesthesia do nicely, and their infants do great, too!

I had a c-section with my first kid, and they usually break your water after the incision if it hasnt already broken. It is more sanitary i think. Good luck, and i think c-sections are a breeze.
