it could be pivotal...karl rove has pretty much abandoned the idea of trying to pick up moderate voters, deciding that the gop can stay a permanent majority by pandering to the base...it could well backfire...

The split in the United States is about 40% repuglican and 40% democrat and 20% independent voters. The independents usually decide the election. They are probably the most important vote for the two party's that there is.

With so many Republicans jumping ship this year after being made such fools in front of their fellow Americans, I would say the fate of the House and Senate rests in their Diebold counted choices.

The "Independent" vote is a large crowd of people. Anyone who can successfully court them is assured of victory.
