They take it out and lay it on your upper abdomen to put in the stitches and close it up but they don't clean it. They put it back in your abdomen and then start to close you up. I am a surgical tech so I am very familiar with this. I'm the one that hands the doctor the instruments, or if i assist then I'm the one that helps suture and hold retractors. It is kind of weird to see it the first time. The first time i saw a c-section done I thought they were pulling out another baby but it was just the uterus. but yes they do take it out to stitch it up EVERYONE that has a c-section has had this done. That is the only way they can stitch up the uterus so anyone tells you they don't is full of it.

The only time they remove the uterus from the body is when they do a hysterectomy. They remove baby and placenta only during c-section, unless there are anomolies that need removing such as cysts and tumors. Definatly ask your dr. if you still curious or watch Discovery Heath Network shows such as "Baby, Baby", "Birth Day" and shows of that nature.

ummmm....NO
the dr. removes the baby and the amnoinic sac, but they is still the natural draining of the uterus. is more natural and healthy this way. besides, i have never heard of a doctor removing a uterus to clean it out

My sister had one and I don't remember her saying anything about that. I think they just took the baby out. That would be an excellent question for your doctor.

Yes, not only do they clean it, but they wax it and give it a lube job for those not so fresh mornings.
