a couple weeks ago some people came to my school and gave a talk on pro-life stuff. it was people who are against the death sentence. i was just wondering, for those who believe that...would u change your mind about saddam hussein? cuz he was a bad guy...
i personally don't know if i'm for it or against it.

they are only pro life so that all the little black and poor babies will grow up so they can keep the military staffed for all the future wars

It is a very hard decession to really ponder. Cause no one wants to think that there are people so bad that they need to be put to death to protect the rest of society or pay for thier mis deeds. But I believe that there are crimes that are so horrible that those in charge of the governments and those that live in the government must make a effort to protect everyone from those that kill, rape and do really horrible things to other humans.
Saddam for instant, killed so many people, not just by shooting them, hanging them but by gasing them, and actually boiling them alive til they were dead in oil in front of the towns people, to get the towns people to bend to his will. In this case, I believe he should die.
In a case were a man raped and killed the mother and her little girl, he should die. The woman who ran over her husband 19 times because he was having an afrair, she should of been put to death. The lady in Texas that drowned her 5 kids should of been put to death.
There is no defense for this, no insane, cause it is the very insane that do the very horrible things to humans. Hitler they said was insane. Do we not take action in such cases.
The Old Testament, says that the only case that murder is acceptable, is when the one that has murdered may be put to death for having done so.
It is a hard subject matter, I had to sit on a crimal case where we had to make this discession, but....just in the middle of the trail it was moved into another county and I was releaved from making the final decession. I was leaning towards the death penality.

I have a friend that is against the death sentence or was I asked her what she would do if it was a guy that had killed her little sister would she still fill the same way about the death sentence then..she said she would have killed him herself..So I can't be for it only when it effects me because the fact is if they are free to walk the planet then they are only free to do it again.

Maybe we should should build Saddam Hussein a beautiful cottage in the Hamptons, with servants to take care of his every whim, flower garden in his courtyard, and a string of female models to choose from daily, like a harem.

I believe that Life and death are both things for God to decide not man. Life in prison would be far worse for any human being. Even Saddam. I know, I could not shoot and kill another human. Some can and do. War is hell, war is about killing or being killed. War changes evey man. What I would do in war, I do not know but if I faced Saddam and it was him or me that would live, I would fight with my last breath and yes even kill to stay alive.
BTW, "we" don't execute people "they" do. It's far different when the "we" is you not them.

I hope at some point that your school can explain to you that these presentations are just to expose you to multiple opinions and you are allowed to make up your own mind. We execute people who commit genocide to insure the safety of the ones who survived. Its not vengence and it should be an expected consequence for a man like Saddam.

I've talked with people who draw the line in the sand. NO matter how evil the person, the death penalty cannot exist in a civlilized society.
Most people have that grey hyprocritical line. 30 day appeal, sounds like the US can learn from Iraq and their stance on the death penalty.

I think in his case im for because of all the stuff he done, he even got his kids to kill people when they were young im talking 10 or so but overall im not sure about the death sentence but i think they should use leathel injection or so as it is more humane.
