80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

Life's meaning is what you want it to mean.

Like a blank white canvas, the image depends which colour you paint on, which object you look at, and what interpretation you give it. Meaning and purpose is as elusive as the eel in the mud.

People ask what is the purpose. Maybe that is not the question. It's an answer..your answer. Purpose is like the shades of colour or the continuity of numbers.

Are we being threatened by our own kind? Or did we drive them to that corner?

Life is a cycle of cause and consequence. For every action there is a reaction. It is a continuity without any interval. Without interval, where can we have purpose.

For every black you see, there is white that other people feel.

Did i make you confuse yet?

Serpent, Adam, and Eve. Not to metion all the sins 'man' has performed. My dad always says that the reason we are here for such a short time is because every time we sin, the amoutn f time we have here on Earth ssslllooowwly decreases. So, that may be why Man kind only lives to be about 90 or so. Noah lived to be like 1,000 or something like that...dang, I wouldn't like being that old. But, I guess it's like being 85 now--you feel ,physically, just the same.
