If your analogy is going where I think it's going, you'd have to say that you wrote the book with divine guidance.

Try reading Star Maker by Olaf Stapledon, written 1937. An early science fiction book that explores the possibility that rocks are alive. They just seem inanimate because their life systems are extremely slow moving.

As a geologist I can tell you that rocks live, change and move - eventually. It all depends upon whether you can shift your mental gears and take the long view of time. And, if you look & listen very, very closely and respectfully - they can tell you of their origins and names. They can even be geo-barometers and geo-thermometers. But I do not think that they wish to communicate with us as we are such flickers of brief moment. If only they could talk......go with your idea, I'd read it. We write about swords with souls and name our cars and weapons so why not rocks that think?

Kudos to you for imagination and originality. If your passion is for a story about a thinking, talking rock, by all means, do it.
