Quite honestly the Bx/PX sucks. AAFES as a whole sucks... and you will come to learn that fast... their is no variety at all. I'm sure germany has much more than where I am at, but I could be wrong. Ebay has become my best friend. the only thing i bought on a base was a double stroller. i'm sorry I can't give you better information but living overseas and having to shop either off base or in an AAFES is a very trying way of life. I had a baby overseas too. Be prepared to share a room once you give birth.... there are no private rooms, you also share a bather room between 4 people.

Real quick what comes to mind; Amazon and IKEA(Furniture store that is almost a 'Cult' thing in Germany). Both offer gift cards and I have female friends who love to buy thing at both. Not sure what the Euro/Dollar exchange rate is these days?
Karstadt is a large department store chain in Germany and they also have gift cards, but not sure if they have English in thier web site. Germany also has Toys-R-US stores, if your friend has small children that would be a good gift card(Ok, maybe too practical).

I have looked for you for Gutscheine (Gift coupons) at the Galeria Kaufhof, its a huge chain in Germany. Nice things. If you can't find what you want you can email them in English (I did) and they will reply in English. Good luck.

One of the greates online stores I have seen for great quality, and that seems to have something for every taste was manufactum (http://www.manufactum.de or international site at http://www.manufactum.com)
You should be able to find something in any price range there.
