please help! i dont know! im from MD and my cousins from New Orleans think its south but my friends from california say its north? My Sister says its mid-atlantic. Im torn because its below mason dixon but wasn't apart of the confederate states but its just like the south... Sometimes i think its north but its soooo much like the great south...HELP!

It is below the Mason-Dixon Line, but that's pretty meaningless these days. Historically and culturally Md. fits in with the South. Today North vs. South is pretty much a state of mind. You live there... what do you and your neighbors think? That's what counts.

Being from Maryland I can tell you it usually depends on who you ask. Northern states usually say its in the South. Southern states usually say it's in the North. I consider it a Northern state.

If you have to choose between the two, then I'd say it's in the North, but that's kind of like asking if the color grey is black or white.
