Stay home and catch up. Curl up together watch some flicks, but most of all show him how much you love him. Maybe even cook an amazing dinner. if you dont want to make him a cake, try his favorite cookies or pie. but DO NOT forget to just be with him and tell him how much you missed him. Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Well im a guy, so dont totally take it from me but...
If I were a man coming back from war, I know 3 immediate things would happen regardless of my wanting them to or not.
#1 My Family would want to see me ( if still in good standing )
#2 My friends...
#3 My woman.
Knowing that, put you in the last order, not because you are least, but because you are best, like the desert for last. He may be tired from seeing his family and friends, not to mention whatever trip he took in getting back, jet-lag etc...
Whatever you do, dont go somewhere noisy. When youve been away from eachother long enough, it does take some warming up again to get close to eachother. Take him somewhere quiet, just you and him, maybe a mellow resturuant, just be with him and try to steal him away from anything else so that you can focus on eachother. But dont make him work while taking him away, let him chill...
Although he is strong and worked his butt off im sure, and hes probably used to not being tired ;). You know a place in the country where you 2 could go and walk maybe? maybe an old fashioned picnick.
If it was me, id want to walk in the door, see her, tell her all about where I was, what I did, wonder how she is, ask about everything, then I would just want to go somewhere with her.
It may be classic romance to go look at the stars somewhere or something, but its not bad. Mostly the girl enjoys romance, the guy simply enjoys being with her... Make yourself available.
Emmers and Beuaties ideas are right on, except maybe skip the movie... Dont do something that will take the focus off the time you spend together. A movies cool, but its not up front and personal, intimate, or romantic which are the things you did not have for 5 months ;).

Well, since he has a family as well as you for a fiance you may have to share him for a bit before you give him all of his earthly desires. Have a really nice (predictable) party with everyone and that night is what you should concentrate on...when you're alone. Buy something really pretty to wear...pink is a good color, have his favorite snacks, rent a new movie he probably hasn't seen since he's been in Iraq and just treat him like a king.
