I did not believe him at all. It really shows how stupid people think the general public is...because they think we'll buy their lies, no matter how ridiculous. But since then he has confessed to all of it. He admitted to the sex and drugs. I can't say I'm at all surprised.

Haggard is not the head of Focus on the Family. That would be James Dobson.
Haggard was the head of the National Evangelical Association and pastor of New Life Church.

Haggard is not from Focus on the Family. That is Dobson.
Haggard fell because Haggard quit doing God's work and started doing Haggard's work. He became more interested in politics and banning gay marriage than spreading the Word of God.
"Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Mt. 28:18-20 ASV)," This specific call to action by Jesus gives Christians a singular purpose in life. It does not call ministers/pastors to become political power brokers, but to be the trumpets of Jesus' impending return.

Not even a little bit. And there's no way that this was the first time either.
Does anyone believe the phrase: Yes, I smoked, but I did not inhale.

He's not from Focus on the Family, is he? Not that that changes that what he did was wrong, just don't want to cast all Christian groups with the same stone.

It's just sad. Whenever something like this happens to a leader in the Christian community, the entire community suffers.

I feel bad for the guy and his family, but how dare he have spoken so strongly against gay rights when he was engaging in that behavior. One can forgive someone who slips from his ideals but I am so sick and tired of the hypocrisy. Over and over again.

Enough already. He admitted about the meth, copulating with a male prostitue. He has resigned in disgrace and I find him repugnant but it's time to let it go.

I thought that he admitted to sexual immorality. I could have been wrong. It's a sad situation any way it goes. I feel for the family.
