Ozone layer had undergone massive depletion due to natural and man-made causes. It had areas greatly decreased that made it to the point that there is already a "hole" or there is a certain area that no longer contain the ozone layer.

There are various factors influencing the ozone concentrations: >>Stratospheric sulfate aerosols mainly from large explosive volcanoes greatly affect the ozone layers.
>>Stratospheric winds which bring about changes of the tropical winds in the lower stratosphere move ozone from one area to another.
>>Greenhouse gases which might heat the planet and alter weather patterns affecting the magnitude of the stratospheric winds.
>>Sunspot cycle which is largely affected by unusual solar activity, solar storms and large solar flares which highly affect the ozone creation by solar UV radiation.
>>Stratospheric chlorine, coming mostly from man-made halocarbons.

With all factors affecting the ozone creation, and movements and all that supports its depletion, ozone layer had lowered its amount or its concentration which can cause the risk of harmful ultraviolet exposures. In simple term, the ozone layer had undergone thinning of its layer which some area already resulted to have holes. Anything that had thinned severely can breakdown anytime - that also applies to the ozone layer.♥

RE:
What Is Happening To The Ozone Layer?

The CFC's which comes from aerosol cans are slowly eating away at the ozone layer in the sky which is merely a layer of protective gasses that stops very harmful rays fro hitting the earth. This eating away is causing "global warming, which is only the theory that the earth is slowly getting warmer, and will eventualy be all water from melted ice caps. This is a problem that needs to be looked at 50 years from now, and is only brought up now in elections to try to sway the voters opinion on a candidate. That my friend is called propoganda, using the emotions to sway the vote rather than the brain, which is called rhetoric.
Hope this helps

Global warming is not related to a hole in the ozone except that they are both related partially to science and primarily to politics. The left seems to like to dream up these scare scenarios that it uses to club certain industries. Ozone is created in the upper atmosphere by ultraviolet light hitting oxygen molecules and adding an extra oxygen. It is constantly being created. Florine and chlorine gas from natural sources and theoretically chloro/florocarbons from artificial sources tends to break it down. It is considered an air pollutant when concentrations are too high in our breathing air.

Actually it is a big deal. It is thinning, letting in more UVB rays, since ozone is the main blocker of the rays, and there ozone "holes" over the poles which are getting larger every year.

Nothing the whole global warming theory is complete crap the sun is actually getting hotter causing the earth to warm.
