It's just you. I don't find it strange at all. Some people prefer their avatars to be closer to a true expression of themselves.

Not necessarily. I think people can go many ways when choosing an avatar. They either have it represent a highly idealized version of themselves, a complete fantasy that is nothing like them, or they try to make it as accurate a representation of themselves as possible. Given our societies distaste for overweight persons a plus size avatar would not be a choice for the idealized version of self people. It could be a choice for the fantasy people, but not as likely. For a person who wants as accurate a representation as possible and who is plus size, I could see them choosing the overweight avatar. Short answer: I don't think it's strange at all.

The "plus-size" clothes for avatars look like normal human sizes. I wear a size 4 trouser and size s top and I STILL think the "regular" avatars are way too skinny. If someone is fat-phobic maybe they'd think upsized avatars are strange.

I think its a good ideal. Because they are not being fake to their-self or to others. I think just about over more than half of everyone that have an avatar, don't look like they portray. So that means that people are being fake, for no apparent reason. What's the point of lying, when most likely you are not going to meet someone from here. What? Are they a shame of their true appearance? I guess so.

In fact, I am a plus size and dressing my avatar as a plus size is a way of describing me. I just wish they had more options in choosing outfits. It's a bummer they only have just a few.

I think it is a nice option that is offered so each person can modify their avatar to suit themselves. I'd like to see some different eyeglass frames and more mature hair colors & styles, too, since not everyone is a 20 year old size two.

Of course not! There are plus sized people on here too. Maybe they want there avatar to look more like them. Not everyone is a size 2.

I don't this it is at all, maybe if the person was smaller it would be. Maybe people are just trying to make the avatar look as much like themselves as possible, so they use the plus sizes, maybe because that's what they wear. People are just trying to show others what they really look like.

If I were plus sized in life I would probably make my avatar plus sized rather than create a false image of myself. But really, it's an avatar, do whatever you want to do.

Who cares if they dress their avatar as plus size! If people want to portray themselves for how they really are, then that's their business.

If someone is comfortable with that and maybe they are in plus sizes, it's perfectly fine. Yahoo! created them to make people see not everyone is a stick.
