Have you been to your doctors? I didn't start going to my OBGYN until I was about 3 months and after my first appt. I was able to hear the heart beat. I am not sure that it is developed that far yet but there is an awesome website you can go to that tells you what is happening every week with the baby including the heart beat as well as what you should be expecting each week. It is www.about.pregnancy.com they also have weekly ultrasound pictures which is awesome! Good luck

Completely normal! Especially if you're like me and have a bit of extra padding...My doc wanted to check the heartbeat when I went in for an appointment in my 11th week but didn't even attempt to use the doppler...he just went ahead and did an ultrasound instead. 3 weeks later, I came down with a horrible bug and had to go in again and he found it very easily with the doppler.

Most heartbeats can't be heard till the 12th week or after using a doppler. If you are using a stethoscope, it'll be a lot longer than that. Probably somewhere near 28 weeks I believe.

Don't panic just yet...it's normal and your doc will let you know if you need to be concerned.

Most of the time you cant hear the heart beat until 12 weeks however if you are overweight prior to getting pregnant it might be later then that.

Have you had an ultrasound yet? That is the only way your really are going to hear it at this stage, or about now your Dr. should be able to hear it in his office with his little doppler. Those home heart listening devices work after 20 weeks.

I would say that is normal. They might do an ultra sound to you at 3 months. You don't want one before that time because it would be an internal. (Uncomfortable!)

Hang in there..... I couldn't tell I was preggie until about 5 months when I started to show. That was scary. Then the little stinker would stop moving at 7-8 months and I would have to spend the afternoon at the OB hooked to monitors waiting for him to move.

Best of Luck!

It's normal. I didn't hear the baby's heartbeat until 12 weeks. I went in for the first check up when I was 10 weeks and they couldn't hear anything. Was loud and clear at 12 weeks. Don't worry you'll hear it soon enough. It's so precious once you do. :)

I wouldn't freak out about not hearing the baby heart beat because ever women is different. I saw my baby heart at 6wks old and heard it at 8wks. I heard them by having a vaginal ultrasound. But my friend said she didn't hear her baby until see was 14wks. So everyone is different and if your doctor is not worried you shouldn't either. Good Luck and God Bless.

No. Your doctor would tell you if it was abnormal. You may have a tilted uterus. I did and the doctor couldn't hear the heartbeat until 12 weeks with the doppler. I heard it during the sonogram at 7 weeks though.
