We have been living in our house for almost 10 years. We have never been attacked by any wild animals till now. All my lawn in my front yards is destroyed by wild boars. They trampled, dug and pulled my grass out. And that actually happened to our neighbors, too. Do you have similar experience and what control did you take? Thanks.

Ok, I work with wildlife all the time. However, boars are not my area of expertise because as far as i know, they dont hang out by the ocean. There are a few things to do here. First, dont allow ANYONE to kill them. Laws vary state by state on what is huntable. So hiring someone to kill them may be illegal. Second, contact your local wildlife department, or department of fish and game. Call who ever you can, someone is bound to know a good number. IF NOT. Do research. There are many things that repel any animal. (hopefully you wont have to resort to putting up a fence) But just like keeping your garbage inyour garage will help detour Racoons and Bears. There is something you can do to detour the Boars. Also, if there is absolutely nothing you can do, try ceyenne pepper. Or some other form of HARMLESS pepper powder. I have had the best results with ceyenne. Depending on the size of your lawn, you may have to buy alot. But sprinkle it everwhere you can, even on pavement. Boars use their noses alot so smelling the pepper will get it in their nose, and be irrating BUT HARMLESS and they will eventually hopefully, not want to come back. I hope this helps.

Olbeard....is correct. Contact the wildlife people in your area and then kill if they give you approval. One thing you must keep in mind is these things are very dangerous. Do not try to trap them or corner them or anything of that nature if you do not know what you are doing. They have tusks that can rip you to shreds. A hog can not turn it's head sideways but they can rip up and down and they have very little fear of you and will not allow you to be between them and their young should you be out there at the same time. They are not an animal to be messed with and killing them is not just a little task. It takes a proper head shot to bring them down so do be careful.

Are you on a large parcel of land? If so you may need to advertise for a hunter. Most hunters would love the opportunity to shoot a boar or two.
If you are in a normal neighborhood... I have no idea. They will go away after completely destroying your yard. Animal control maybe.

There is not a whole lot you can do besides shooting them. If you don't have guns ask some friends or relatives if they would like to hunt them. That way you can get plenty of pork dinner also.
