9 - 2r is already simplified as far as it will go.

it is simplified, since the exponents are not the same you can't subtract the two. If you were solving for r then it would be 4.5, but this problem isnt asking for that it is asking you to simplify ANSWER=9-2r

um, technically 9 - 2r would already be simplified, unless you mean something else

9-2r is already simplified, maybe you meant evaluate, but you would need some kind of parameters to do that.
