The chances of someone being authentically posessed by a demon are very very slim. The churches of various faiths are extremely reluctant to acknowledge demonic posession, and go through exhaustive tests to verify whether or not someone is really posessed.
Add to that fact the idea that no one can really prove the existence of demons, and that different faiths consider demons to be of different sources, it's even more complicated - some even believe that demons are of our own creation, that every person has their own demons that are linked only to them. The whole idea of demon posession is theoretical at best, as it could be said that we all live with our own angels and demons every minute of every day.

Of course, when I'm trying to teach and my students can't stop talking... I shout so loud... that is definitely a demon.
