Guys will always be jealous of guy friends, doesn't matter if they're gay, straight, bi -whatever. The threat isn't so much that they would hit on him, as it is that they would hit on you.
I know they're gay, would never hit on you, but you gotta think like a guy -anything walking around with a (male member) is considered a threat.

1. Do not mix their company, he's not comfortable around them so let him be him. Just as you let your other friends be who they are.
2. Beware, it's not uncommon for someone you consider a "freind" to hit on the person you are dating, No matter what the gender is. So do not let your guards down.
3. Find and make sure that the "greater majority" of your "friends" exhibit the type of lifestyle you'd like to lead.
I know this (#3) may sound silly but it's a wise choice. HE may be put off by the "#" of gay friends you have. Though you may not be "so inclined", it may not reflect well on the type of lifesyle or environments you prefer.

He's probably has latent homosexual tendencies. Subconsciously, he's very likely attracted to men. Although he's not even remotely aware of this, (except for odd feelings he occasionally has to reject late at night) it overtly manifests itself as subdued discomfort, and a thinly veiled hostility regarding your friends. Often, repressed anger in a person, which is a result of deep rooted fear and confusion regarding their own sexuality, is vocalized in criticism of the very object of their desire. Be careful of this guy, especially if he's a republican and involved with the church someway. Basically, his superego is in conflict with his id.

Time ..patience and personal experience will teach him ..his fears are unfounded ...I too have gay friends and have experienced this ...it is a male instinct to defend his girl ...and only when they get to know the gay friend will that fear disappear ...I had friends who did not believe my friend was gay ..believe me he is
it is not about them hitting on him ...it is more are they really gay ?

Bros before hoes. Or in your case, bros before boyfriends. Friends are more important than boyfriends. In my opinion.
