I am only 29 so I cannot put myself in an old person's shoes, but if I had to answer I'd say the meaning of life. Having a lifetime of experience does make a difference and if you think about it experience is the only thing that can be bought... An old person that is sensitive and creative enough to write a book has obviously reflected upon his/her life and probably discovered what is it that matters at the end of the day.. This long journey has lead somewhere: and sharing the knowledge of the important parts of this trip would be very interesting to all of us..

It would be about my life, of course. What else can you write about, unless it is a frivilous, cotton candy romance novel, or a mystery. Some people led very interesting lives, and have a lot to offer this generation of "me", people. A self-sacrificing story with family ties, and close relationships are refreshing, and some even have scary, and fearful, and exciting lives to write about. I will write if I want to, but I am not there yet.

I would write about:
how I was stolen as a child,
how I found my birth family,
how my upbringing compared to theirs,
the joy and pleasure I get by being with my birth siblings,
the impact my two marriages had on my life,
the trials and tribulations of my three children,
how much I appreciate my raising family, and
I would end it with what I felt I had achieved in my life and what I felt I should have done but never got around to.

If it was fiction, their characters will have experiences similar to what they would have had. Essentially the point of the book would be outlining their mistakes and then showing others how not to make those mistakes.
The book would be about life. It's trials and Victories and defeats. It need not necessarily be their lives. It could be the lives of their characters, which echo with experiences they had.

You life and your family's life. My Grandma and Great Aunt have been trying to record their lives so that I can right them into a story. I've had no luck, so far. They just got home from their vacation in Mexico. They'r both in their mid 80's. Go Grandma!

Your life, and how it was in the old times. Book readers seem to like that because it gives a perspective on how it was back then.

I think i would write about my life, but not about what i did or who i am. I would write about what i did not do or what i regret not saying to someone when i had the chance.

With honesty, I would write about my life. The things I went through: my childhood, the war in the Balkans, moving to the U.S., struggles, teen years, and much more to come. :-)
