Mitochondria in animal cells convert energy into forms the animal cell can use. Chloroplasts in plant cells are necessary for photosynthesis, converting sunlight into energy the plant cell can use.

mitochondria is the power house of the cell. It generates energy needed. Chloroplasts are what give the cell it's color because they contain chlorophyll.

chloroplasts are only found in plant cells and provide the green color of most plants
