That's my question. I think it is a bad idea, and after a day or so I will post my reasoning, but for now does anyone else think it is a bad idea? Oh any why?

First, I am not pro-death penalty. I believe that removing Hussien from power was the right thing to do, even if the impetus for removing him was wrong.

Second, we are not going to "let" the execution of Hussien happen. The decision will be made and carried out by the Iraqi government. The trial and sentancing is not the product of any US involvement. This is an Iraqi matter and the Iraqis will determine the final outcome.

An execution carried out by the current Iraqi government will solidify it as the legitimate governing body. As long as Saddam is around, there will always be the question as to whether he will rise to power once again. Machivelli argues that one must eliminate the old government in order to insure the security of the future government. I believe that as long as Saddam lives, there will be continued sectarian violence. Once he is executed, I believe that the nation will turn from Sunni/Shiite/Kurdish to Iraqis.

But then again, I could be wrong.

properly thinking Bin weighted down remains at great and Bush seems to have completely forgotten he replaced into ever after him, and that the united kingdom and US invaded Iraq and not utilising a stable reason, and that i do no longer subscribe with the 'eye for an eye fixed' concept without thinking what number harmless lives Bush and Blair have resulted of their war, the entire thought of people taking yet another human's existence is a manner or the different morally uncomfortable in 2006

The only poor judgment was the method of death. True justice would have been to set Saddam loose in an arena full of tortured, maimed, and disenfranchised Iraqi citizens.

I don't think it that bad to do so, mainly because Al Queada isn't really associated with Saddam, so no repercussions there. I'm sure there would be negative reactions in Iraq either way so is probably the best route.

I think is a good idea. He is a dictator and killed many people, his own country found him guilty.

Well, since we created an INDEPENDENT state in Iraq, I guess it's not our business is it? Or is Iraq only independent when we choose for them to be?

I do think he deserves to die but not by hanging, he should be given an injection to end his rotton life.

Saying that i also think bush should be put on trial for all his war crimes and ultimately given the death sentance
