if the baby is too upset it won't take the bottle try rocking the bbaby and then brush the nipple againest the baby's cheek and she should take it.

When my son was little he wouldn't accept a bottle unless he was lying in his crib or somewhere else on his own. If he was being held in the arms of the babysitter he would get angry and keep trying to breastfeed instead; the only thing that helped was lying him down on his own and giving him the bottle that way. You could try this on the baby you're babysitting, maybe this will help with him/her too.
Best of luck.

Is the baby normally breastfed? If so that is very normal! if not you may just have to try different bottles until you find one that the baby will take. With my foster son who we brought home from the hospital at 2 days old I had to buy 6 different bottles before I finally found one he would take - Avent. Good luck!

Most likely his mom has not worked enough on training him to take a bottle. This happened to me when I was babysitting for a friend of mine several years ago. She screamed bloody murder,
so I ended up having to pour the milk a little at a time into a medicine spoon to get her to take it, and it worked.

You can try offering the milk on a spoon, with a medicine syringe, with a medicine dropper, or in a small soft sided cup like comes with a bottle of Pepto Bismol.
