I was in your shoes 3 years ago. I needed to develop my vert. What helped me? Your local athletic store...or on eastbay.com sells this show that makes you walk on your tippy toes and play ball on your tippy toes. This may seem stupid but it helped me soo much! By standing on your toes for long periods of time, it builds the muslce necessary to increase your verticle leap. On days you dont use the shoes, do repetitive jumping. That will help you build your quads. Your quads is 1/4 of the contributor to your leap. But those shoes are sooo crucial. Best of luck! I think this should help you!

I use to have a terrible vertical like 12 inches or something. But i then heard this excercise were u jump up touch the backboard 20 times both sides. Then after awhile use a medicine ball 5lbs would be good maybe 10. And just keep doing that believe me it works. I have a 39 inch vertical leap. good luck

Well if u not tryin to pay an arm and leg for some product u could just run up some stair on toes and do the same thing going down. If u dont feel a good burn skip a step or to do it 4 like 15 min or till u calves burn, but only do it like 4 or 5 times a week give ur muscles time to heal so they can get stronger.

Have you ever watched documentaries or movies of the Masai tribe of Africa? They have an amazing vertical leap that they practice in their dance. It gets higher and easier with each jump. Practice it to music and soon you will train the muscles you need to really get up there.
